Client-server network monitoring system. It grabs network packets basing on specified words. Reports can be emailed automatically. Additional options allow examining network machines states (Services, Logged on users, Sessions etc).
Features: StenGuard is a client server based network monitoring system. It can sniff packets based on a dictionary. You can define the data words to be picked up. When a packet with a word specified in a dictionary reaches the local network it will be saved to a log. It is also possible to attach penalty points. So that when the offensive word is sniffed as many times as defined in the penalty points, you will get an alert. Alerts could be via email. Application offers also HTML-scan functionality. It means that data is interpreted on web browser level (this is the text you see in a web browser) will also be analyzed. The application is easy to use. Use it to monitor FTP, WWW, emails, various internet communicators etc.
Businesses, internet cafes and parents monitoring children can monitor net activities easily. Many network host properties can be monitored in real-time. These include logged on users, services, event logs, time, sessions, shares etc. It`s possible to monitor these over many hosts in the network. There`s a performance monitor too that you can look at to see if everything is running as it should. It pings every machine in the network and log the times to every machine. The client-server architecture creates a monitoring system where multiple clients can be monitoring multiple hosts. These instances running on one machine could become the monitoring machine for the network. Monitor only text or HTML data if you like. The program is easy to set up. The dictionaries to be used can also be imported.
Overall: A nice and simple utility for monitoring network activities and detect threats too.
